Like many other pest bird solutions, the genesis of “bird hazing” came from…

While looking for cost-effective alternatives to the available solutions during the mid-1980s, researchers began testing liquid forms of a commonly used grape flavoring additive called Methyl Anthranilate (MA for short) to disrupt the feeding behaviors of pest birds. They soon discovered that the best way to affect them was by vaporizing it and having them inhale it during flight.

The biggest challenge with MA as a pest bird repellent around structures has been the cost of the delivery system. However, recent technological advances in other industries like scenting and vaping have given us relatively affordable and effective delivery systems at much lower equipment costs and fluid consumption levels.
